With the holidays around the corner, I have been in the Christmas mood! I added a few 'extras' onto a sleigh that I had found in a second hand store and here it is!! This will be added to my etsy store soon! http://www.rekindleme.etsy.com/

I recently finished working on a piece for the fall season! I love this time of year, and I miss the changing seasons since I live in Phoenix, AZ now! Since I was in the Autumn mood, I came up with an idea for a seasonal tree. I started with an MDF base, and added fabric pieces. Then I used my inks and stamped fall leaves onto cardstock. The tree and the limbs are from a picture of a tree that I saw while out hiking. I thought the bark was beautiful, so I copied the picture and used it for my tree in this piece. I added the cardstock leaves and some skeleton leaves, along with some words for the season, and-----came up with this wall hanging! The pumpkins were stamped and embossed and added to make the scene complete! Ah, Love that Crisp Air!!

I was thinking about family after looking through some older photos that I have and thought I would put together a collage. I used pictures of my grandparents, my mom, and my 2 uncles, and then I copied them onto cardstock. I put together other papers and "findings" from my art room, and came up with this collage. The picket fence is rusted metal and a lid from a tea jar was used, too. The verse in the lid reads, "find a nice gal and settle down." The verse under my grandparents' picture reads, "Side by side, our life together is full." My grandparents were married on January 1st, 1934. I am very fortunate to have these photos and wanted to do something special with them!!

I had fun working on this box, which is all about romance!! I had found the box in a goodwill store and used different items to finish it off. The verses which I included in this project are: "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart." by Helen Keller and "I love you, not for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you." by Roy Croft. Have a lovely day!!

Hello! The last few weeks have flown by and I have not taken the chance to sit down and "wander" through my art room!! We have been away, up in the mountains of AZ and back to the green trees where I grew up, so now I am back and on track again! I just wanted to mention a few things that I have found that inspired me lately! There are 2 new books, "Wild Tiles," by Chrissie Grace and from the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, "Life Lessons for Mastering the Law of Attraction." Fantastic reading!! I've been in the artroom recently, so more projects are coming to fruition!!

I have just finished a collage that I added to my website. This piece was centered around a picture that I took, shortly after 9/11/2001, of Independence Hall in Philadelphia. As we were walking, I noticed the American flag beyond the tree and thought it would make a nice picture. I copied the picture off on the computer, added some stamps from a few years ago, along with some other papers and items, and this is what I came up with! My husband made the frame for this and I used crackle finish to complete it. We are so fortunate to live in such a beautiful country! God bless!!

What do you do with a styrofoam head? Well, this is mine! I had some of my mom's jewelry (the necklace is hers), some of my jewelry (the earrings) and one of my mom's scarves that she used to wear. I decided to put them all together, add some "makeup," eyelashes and some eyebrows, and here she is!! I wanted a way to display some of my mom's personal items, which I am lucky enough to own now! Thank you, Mom!! I think this is a perfect match!

I just finished another recycled project! I found a candy box after Valentine's Day in a thrift store and came up with this Love*n*Hearts Box! I had some of the objects in my "stash of goodies" and then I added some papers, some from cards, my own artwork, and from Somerset Studio. The candy piece that is seen on the inside is a candle that I found at a thrift store. Keep those eyes open when you are in the "Junk" stores! You never know what you may be able to use!! Have a LOVEly day and Hearts to you!

The movie "Under the Tuscan Sun," one of my favorites, inspired me to make this shadow box! The words on the postcard are from the movie, where Francis is in the marketplace, composing a postcard, while being inspired by her surroundings. I put together a few found objects, such as the tile, silk leaves and grapes, and the buttons, made a few papers (the stamped sunflower and the postcard), and came up with this whimsical shadow box! This can be found on my website.
I have just finished another altered bottle. I recycle bottles, give them a few coats of paint, then embellish! This one has a handmade tag that can be removed to use on another project, or on its own. The lid comes off and silk flowers may be added for decoration. I do not recommend putting water and real flowers in the bottle. This bottle can be found on my website. Hope you like it!

We had some old wood sitting around in the garage, so I used it for my collage. I added tissue paper for a base, then added fabric, fibers and a few older bird stamps. I painted the slide and added the verse, "He that plants a tree loves others besides himself." by Thomas Fuller. I LOVE nature and spending time outside! Hope you like it!
